The International & Out-of-State Employee Accounting Compliance Manager is the engine that keeps the UA System running smoothly. In this high鈥慽mpact role, you become the organization鈥檚 trusted expert on employment compliance, multi鈥慾urisdiction payroll, and global mobility regulations 鈥 ensuring every employee, no matter where they work, is supported by accurate processes, airtight compliance, and forward鈥憈hinking strategy.
You lead the charge in navigating evolving tax laws, paid leave mandates, international
employment rules, and remote鈥憌ork requirements. Your work shapes the policies, controls,
and risk鈥憁itigation strategies that protect the organization across states and countries.
With deep expertise and sharp analytical insight, you partner with HR, Legal, Payroll,
Finance, and external advisors to build seamless, compliant systems that scale with
organizational growth.
From overseeing payroll tax accuracy to driving policy development, coordinating cross鈥慺unctional

Minimum Qualifications

compliance, global mobility, or similar.

This is a term-funded position reviewed annually for contract renewal at the University's discretion.
This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the , Grade 81, based on education and experience.

As a Fiscal Technician 3, you will provide day-to-day operational and fiscal support for the Alaska INBRE (IdeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence), based on-campus within the Institute of Arctic Biology (IAB). This role provides an important link between complex scientific research and university administration. This position will work directly with the Alaska INBRE statewide network of researchers, students, and faculty to provide accurate coordination for procurement, complex travel logistics, and detailed grant tracking they need to succeed.
